Liverpool Want Villa and Higuain In January

According to Spanish radio station Candena Ser Liverpool are set to make moves for both David Villa of Barcelona and Gonzalo Higuain of Real Madrid in the January transfer window.

In the report by Cadena Ser its claims that Liverpool are concerned at the lack of goals being scored by the squad so far this season and are preparing big bids to land the world class pair when the January transfer window re-opens.

David Villa is very much playing second-fiddle to Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp, he's mostly being played out in a left-wing position, but he's still scoring goals (21 in 39 starts), so a fee close to the £30 million mark is going have to tabled if the reds have any chance of landing him.

Higuain, on the other hand would seem a more realistic target with the Argentina man currently behind Karim Benzema in the Madrid striking ranks. He still boasts 71 goals in 132 appearances for Madrid which is a very good scoring ratio, but if the rumours of Real Madrid wanting Carlos Tevez are true, then Higuain could be heading for the door.
