Stoner warms up fastest at Aragón


With cool temperatures and cloudy skies greeting the MotoGP class for their morning warm up session at the MotorLand circuit, the three front row qualifyers were the three quickest of the outing, with Repsol Honda taking the first two spots in the times.

Stoner set the pace with a lap of 1'49.651 while team mate Pedrosa following by a margin of three tenths. Factory Yamaha's Ben Spies was third quickest, a full 9 tenths off the leading time set by the AUstralian.

Marco Simoncelli (San Carlo Honda Gresini Team) was fourth, the Italian's time of 1'50.601 was 0.324 seconds ahead of defending World Champion Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha Factory Racing). Completing the top five in the outing was Pramac Racing's Randy De Puniet whose fastest lap was 1.357 seconds behind Stoner.

Colin Edwards (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) lapped sixth fastest, followed by team mate Cal Crutchlow, Nicky Hayden (Ducati Team) and Álvaro Bautista (Rizla Suzuki) rounding out the top ten. Valentino Rossi (Ducati Team), who sill start the race from pit lane, was 0.095s behind Bautista in 11th.

Rookie of the year contender Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Motoracing) was 12th, while the third Repsol Honda man, Andrea Dovizioso, ranked 15th in the outing.
